Utel's CPO, Frode Gorseth, recently completed a successful business trip to Tokyo, exploring new opportunities in Japan's telecommunications sector and showcasing the company's AI-powered fraud prevention solutions.

During his visit, Frode engaged with key stakeholders, including representatives from the Norwegian Embassy in Tokyo and local telecom operators, to discuss the growing challenge of special fraud in Japan. The discussions highlighted how Utel's experience working with European telecom operators and regulators could provide valuable insights for Japanese stakeholders, including telecommunications companies, government ministries, and law enforcement agencies.

At Interop Tokyo, Utel partnered with local company Glean Corporation to demonstrate their Network Monitoring, Quality Assurance, and Fraud Management solutions. The exhibition generated significant interest from Japanese telecom operators, reflecting the industry's recognition that fraud prevention has evolved from a technical challenge to a strategic imperative affecting customer trust and business sustainability.

The trip's highlight was productive meetings with SCSK Corporation, one of Japan's leading system integrators with over 20,000 employees and consolidated revenue of ¥596,065 million. Utel is now exploring a strategic partnership where SCSK would serve as the company's official channel partner in the Japanese telecom market, combining SCSK's deep market knowledge with Utel's advanced AI-driven telecom intelligence solutions.

"The openness and engagement of the Japanese telecom community has been remarkable," said Gorseth. "The potential for collaboration to bring next-generation fraud defense to Japan feels genuinely promising."

The Tokyo meetings represent Utel's continued expansion into international markets, leveraging their proven expertise in AI-powered fraud detection to address the unique challenges facing telecom operators worldwide.
